I ate a WHOLE cake.

For my husband's birthday a few years ago, I bought him a cake. It was just the two of us and I remember standing in the grocery store debating on which cake to get. I settled on a double layered, vanilla cake with cream in the middle, topped with a thick layer of frosting and strawberries. But in the back of my mind, I had this voice telling me to just buy an individual slice for each of us. I ignored that voice, justifying to myself WHY I could have that whole darn cake.

"It's his birthday and we're celebrating."

"We deserve it."

"I don't have to worry about my weight."

Those were all the ways I was giving myself permission to buy the cake.

My husband doesn't have a sweet tooth, so he ate a slice and that was that. Myself? I would pull that cake out of the fridge and eat on it. No plates, no portions. Just a fork and the cake. Then when I would feel sick or like I had enough I would put it away. I did this (sometimes a few times a day) until it was gone. This probably only took me about 4 days.

And on top of it all, I was still drinking soda daily, eating chips, fried foods, junk, junk, junk.
I never even took my internal health into consideration. All I thought about was that I didn't gain much weight (although I was and just wasn't "seeing" it in the mirror). I never thought about how I was treating my body, my stomach, liver, pancreas, kidneys, heart, blood sugar, blood pressure, etc. NONE of that came into consideration. None of that mattered to me, even though it should have.

Have you ever done anything like this? Are you STILL doing things like this? Do you need help learning how to care for your body and love it like it should be loved?

I'm here for you! It wasn't an overnight process for me, but I did get my health under control. I did learn how to eat and how to love myself. I can help you do that for yourself. Complete this short survey and let's see if you're a fit for my next support group!

I cannot wait to help you start your journey!
